Alliance Digital Product Flow – the Lighthouse Project in the Core Area Software and Internet

The Forth National IT Summit took place on December, 8th 2009 in Stuttgart. The research project AdiWa was detailed described in the official IT Summit brochure (German) and highlighted in the Stuttgarter Erklärung (German) as a Lighthouse project in the core area Software and Internet.

Related to the IT Summit SAP and Fraunhofer organized an Open House the day before. One of the shown exhibits “IT solutions for the Future Factory” is a use case of ADiWa in collaboration with the Future Factory Initiative (FII).

With the Future Factory Initiative (FII) SAP Research supports together with SAP customers and partners the research and development in the manufacturing industry. Opportunities for optimization in the production plant with help of IT are shown in the future factory in Stuttgart and via live connection in the SAP Research Center in Dresden. Customized production is presented live with the example of producing a personalized USB stick. An engine error is simulated and the IT-assisted maintenance process is visualized with future SAP solutions.
